As Jack Harlow went on to receive Songwriter of the Year for the second time in a row, his Song of the Year opportunities ended in a tie with one of the hard hitting charters of the industry. This year, "Industry Baby" and "Heatwaves" by Glass Animals were tied for Song of the Year as Sony Music Publishing went on to win Publisher of the year publisher of "Industry Baby".

Rapper PnB Rock, from Philadelphia, was killed on Monday in what the police said they thought to be a robbery that happened after the musician was tagged on social media at a restaurant in South Los Angeles. He was known for his melodic tones, RnB style vibes, and songs like "Everyday We Lit" and "Selfish."

Chief Michel Moore of the Los Angeles Police Department said in comments to local reporters on Tuesday that the rapper was "brutally attacked by an individual who apparently, or we believe, came to the location after a social media posting of the artist and the woman accompanying him, posting on Instagram a picture of the meal."

​Young Thug already has a trial date set for his RICO case in Georgia, but he will now have to deal with a completely different matter months after his initial trial. 

AEG, a live entertainment business, is suing Young Thug for $6 million, according to a report by AllHipHop that was released on Monday, August 22. AEG claims that the rapper disregarded an agreement they reached in 2017. According to the lawsuit, Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, received a $5 million advance from AEG in exchange for the exclusive rights to his gigs. Despite their agreement, the business asserts that Williams broke the deal shortly after the ink dried.

After the release of Khaled's sentimental cover art earlier this week, he has took to Instagram to give us the official track list for his 13th studio album, GOD DID.

It appears the album will include 18 tracks and an all-star cast as usual. The album reportedly has guest appearances from Drake, JAY-Z, Eminem, Future, Travis Scott, SZA, LiL Baby, Juice WRLD, John Legend, and others who offered Khaled their talents to make this album possible,

​The founders of Verzuz, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, are making sure they receive the money they were promised after selling their idea to Triller last year but have not yet received their entire payment. 

Swizz and Timbo, according to a reports, have sued TikTok's rival after the music-based video-sharing app stopped paying them after the deal was completed last year. Both illustrious producers decided to sell Triller the concept for their grand Verzuz clashes in January 2021. Unfortunately, since last year, the app has reportedly missed a few payments.

Lil Baby took to Twitter to tease that his new album will be released just in time for the summer.

"7/?/22," the rapper tweeted, teasing fans with a possible July release date. With "In A Minute," "Right On," and "Frozen," the Atlanta rapper has slowly made his way back onto the music scene this year. Lil Baby previously teased the record tweeting “Its Gonna Be A Nasty Summer” ready to release his latest project since 2020.

Rick Ross has revealed that he will release two albums in the next months, giving fans a lot to look forward to this summer. The Biggest Boss said the formal announcement and title of his projects will be unveiled very soon in a recent cover story with HotNewHipHop.

​He also talked about going indie after leaving Epic Records, saying that despite not having a huge label behind him, he is still in demand. “I got huge offers on the table right now. Lupe Fiasco has just announced that in addition to announcing his eighth studio album, Drill Music in Zion, he will also be taking on the role of professor at MIT.

Gunna, the rapper behind "Pushin' P," surrendered to authorities earlier this week as part of a 28-person indictment involving members of the Young Stoner Life (YSL) group. He is charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Gunna appeared in court for a bond hearing on Wednesday (May 12), and he was denied bond. Gunna's attorneys, Donald F. Samuel, John A. Garland, and Kristen W. Novay, issued a statement regarding the charges. According to the statement, "Mr. Sergio Kitchens, also known as Gunna, is not guilty. The indictment portrays his music as part of a criminal plot, which is incorrect. Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community, and it is our honor to represent him."

​Young Thug was also refused bond after appearing via video from Fulton County Jail in front of Judge Robert Wolf on Wednesday (May 11). Young Thug is charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and one count of criminal street gang activity. Drugs and firearms were also discovered at Young Thug's residence after officials conducted a search warrant, leading to additional charges.

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine made Hip-Hop history nearly 10 years ago when they signed a groundbreaking agreement that made The Chronic producer the first billionaire in the genre. However, his hasty declaration is said to have lost him $200 million and the right to call himself a billionaire. 

After Tyrese posted a Facebook video of Dr. Dre discussing the deal, Apple's 2014 acquisition of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre's Beats Electronics was almost jeopardized. Archie Eversole, an Atlanta-based rapper best known for his hit single "We Ready" featuring Bubba Sparxxx, died at the age of 37.
On March 25, Archie, born Arthur Eversole, was shot at a Chevron gas station on Snapfinger Woods Drive, and police responded to a complaint about the shooting.

He was transferred to a local hospital, where his injuries were treated, and he died on April 3rd.

Alexander Kraus, Archie's brother, has been accused with his murder, according to Georgia's DeKalb County police. Kraus was initially charged with aggravated assault following the gunshot, but his charges were increased to murder after Eversole died, according to local sources.

Pusha T recently gave credit to the younger Mc’s of this generation which we don’t get much of these days. After sitting down with Complex he gave us a list of rappers that were suited to be in the list of best rapper alive. Push gave an astonishing answer that included rappers that are making history in the rap game.
“Tyler going crazy. Cole is doing his feature things, and YoungBoy, his output is dumb,” Pusha T said. “To me, rap is just that multilayered and multi-genred that you have to name those three.”
According to multiple reports, Pusha T has a brand new studio album with GOOD Music in the world. Should we be looking for these rappers to appear on the Album with the Good Music label mate? There is word on a release date or track listing as of yet but be on the lookout for Pusha T as the gears up to release new music in the near future.

After penning the McDonald’s jingle almost 20 years ago Pusha T claims he wasn’t paid enough and takes aim at McDonald’s.

After claims of writing the McDonalds jingles I’m Lovin’ It almost 20 years ago Pusha T decides to switch sides and take aim at McDonald’s for not giving him his credit and royalties. Back in 2016 Pusha T made it known he was apart of writing the jingle which came from a track in 03 produced by the neptunes. Claims have been disputed by co-writers Tom Batoy, Franco Tortola, and others involved. In an interview with Rolling Stone Pusha said, “Im solely responsible for the ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ swag and the jingle of that company”, also adding “I was paid a one-time fee but no ongoing royalties for penning McDonald’s most enduring marketing campaign”.
