Big K.R.I.T. recently posted this image of the two bearded gentlemen in the studio together on Instagram with a simple caption: "Working @richforever x@youngkrizzle."
While vague at best, we do know they're cooking something up. What exactly that is or where it will end up is now the question. With Mastermind due out March 4th and no tracklisting in sight yet, maybe there's a chance K.R.I.T. will make an appearance on the album? Like Outkast fans, Clipse supporters have had it rough over the years. Both of which have had reunion rumors flourish over the past couple months, but apparently only Andre 3000 and Big Boi are the only two officially getting back together.
After "confirmation" came that the Virginia brothers were indeed working on new material, Pusha T's Facebook page even went with the idea. Now, it turns out everything was bogus. *insert sad face* Speaking with FADER over the phone from his VA home, No Malice shuts downany hope of the rumors being true with the following statement: There is no Clipse album in the worksIt’s not going down. I don’t know where the rumor stems from. And I don’t know how this keeps coming back up—this isn’t the first time. But I would never play with the fans like that and act like something’s about to happen and it’s not. Imagine if the reunion news wasn't supposed to be public and now Push and No Mal are in full deny mode, only to drop a surprise album out of now where like Beyonce. Ok, I'm just reaching at this point.... but it would be dope. Until then, we always have Outkast. Sitting down with The Hollywood Reporter, K. Dot gave an interview that touched upon topics that everybody at this point all know. Some choice quotes:
[On "Control"] Pusha T, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Mac Miller... The name-dropping on "Control," a Big Sean track with verses by Lamar that boast, "I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you" and "What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high," drove LeBron James to tweet, "This is real hip-hop at its best." Russell Simmons called it an "instant classic." Even former Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who found himself mentioned, gently chided Lamar about the need for mentorship. Rumors of bad blood surfaced between Lamar and Drake and innumerable enraged responses came from New York mixtape rappers. "It wasn't pre-meditated, it just came to me when I was writing that bar," says Lamar. "The crazy part is, I didn't think it would ever go to where diss records were coming at me. I thought people would be like… he threw some challenges out there... that was dope." [Learning from Mr. West] "Kanye taught me to never to downplay your ideas," adds Lamar. "I learned to always stay as creative as possible and never have any boundaries. Those things that people called 'rants' on-stage are real conversations that we had behind closed doors -- about business and how when you get to a certain level people won't want to see you break through because they only see you as a rapper." The one standout from the piece, however, was that it also has a brief mention of his performance this Sunday, a "duet, in the Grammy tradition -- features a mash-up of the Imagine Dragons' apocalyptic anthem, "Radioactive," nominated for record of the year, with Lamar's "m.A.A.d City." That should be interesting. As he continues to work on his final album Rhyme Or Die, DJ Kay Slay hits the net with a new mixtape. On top of 50 Cent and Fat Joe's reunion, The Rise Of A City also includes Young Buck and Game's first track together since reuniting in the studio late last year. Take a listen to "Rolling Stone" (which also features Papoose pulling a Summer Jam and rocking with a verse at the end) below. The starters for the 63rd NBA All-Star Game have been revealed. Aired tonight on TNT, we got the first look at the the Western Conference and Eastern Conference starting line-ups for the February 16th stand-off in New Orleans.
On the East side of things, Miami's LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are included with Carmelo Anthony, Kyrie Irving and Paul George. The West shows Stephen Curry landing the point position, Kevin Love beating out Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffen and (despite missing the majority of the year) Kobe Bryant. Check back next week as the reserves will be announced and the complete All-Star line-ups will be ready to decipher. |
