30 rappers will appear on an upcoming track which will showcase the talent of Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.Crew tracks are commonplace in rap today, but unless we're going back to The Game's legendary "One Blood" remix, they rarely feature more than 5 or 6 rappers. A new project put together by Noisey and Hennessey plans to raise the bar for posse cuts, featuring 30 different rappers recorded in 3 different cities (Game's track had 23 rappers by the way. We had to count).
With studio sessions in rap hotspots New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, producer Nick Hook recorded verses from the likes of YG, Problem, Action Bronson, Scotty ATL, Nipsey Hussle, Raekwon, Killer Mike, Pusha T, Rockie Fresh, and many more for the ambitious project. As you can see from the list of names, not everyone fits into the three regions, but everyone came out to the studios in those locations. The sessions in each city were documented, and can be viewed below. No word on when the song will be coming out, but it seems as though it could be any day now. OG Maco saw a lot of similarities between his "U Guessed It" video and Beyoncé's new "7/11" video, so he called her out on Twitter.Wylin' out in a hotel seems like a pretty universal concept, but when it forms the basis of two music videos released in the last few months, does it constitute copyright infringement? While he doesn't go as far to suggest legal action, OG Maco is now claiming that Beyoncé took the concept of his "U Guessed It" video and used it for her recent "7/11" visuals. On Saturday (one day after "7/11" was released), the Atlanta rapper expressed his opinions in two tweets. Read those below.
Watch B.o.B. sit down with the gang from Ebro In The Morning.B.o.B. was out in NYC on Monday when he decided to stop by the Hot 97 studios for a chat with the Ebro in The Morning Show.
Sitting down for nearly 12 minutes, Bobby Ray talked about various things going on his life right now, from his new Trey Songz-assisted single “Not For Long” to proving himself in hip hop again and his No Genre label. Check out the interview above, and while you’re at it, peep B.o.B.’s newly released “Not For Long” video here, along with "Candler Road" here. Watch Dej Loaf perform "Try Me" live on Jimmy Fallon.Detroit’s own Dej Loaf is still riding the wave of her hit single “Try Me”, and tonight she stopped by The Jimmy Fallon Show to make her television debut and perform the buzzing single.
Backed by The Roots, Detroit’s first lady threw on her Coogi robe and took over the stage and crowd with a live performance of the DDS-produced single. Per usual, the little lady had her swag on point here too. Check it out above, and find this cut on her recently-released Sell Sole mixtape which you can cop here. Migos' Quavo speaks on the DC chain robbery.Migos continued to grab headlines earlier this month when Quavo's chain has his chain snatched in DC. The incident occurred not long after Fredo Santana sending threats Migos' way on Twitter, leading to speculation that GTE was involved. These suspicions were further fueled by Chief Keef posting an image of the chain to his Instagram account (and removing it soon after). Ultimately, DC's The Legg Team would accept responsibility, showing off the chain in an interview with Real Talk Hip Hop. Now we finally get an opportunity to hear about the incident straight from Quavo himself. Opening his new Cheeze-produced track, "Tha Truth," with a FaceTime call to one of the alleged chain snatchers, it's clear that he's not just talking the talk on this one. Give the track a listen and let us know what you think. Macklemore joins protestors in the streets of Ferguson. The streets of Ferguson are in an uproar tonight after a grand jury determined that Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot unarmed teenager Mike Brown to death in August, would not be facing criminal charges for his actions. Wilson, who is white, became a national figure after he shot the black 18-year-old multiple times on a residential street. Witnesses claim that Brown was surrendering when shot, while an autopsy seems to indicate that the teen may have reached for Wilson's gun. Regardless of what Brown did prior to the event, however, most parties agree that the use of lethal force was unprovoked.
The hip-hop community has reacted passionately following the jury's decision. Many emcees have expressed frustration with the system. Meanwhile, Macklemore has been spotted on the streets in Ferguson, marching with protesters. Q-Tip, too, has led a protest in Times Square. More reactions will likely be coming in over the coming days. Stay tuned. Big Sean The Black Eskimo replaces A$AP Rocky on the official remix of Tinashe's Aquariussingle, "Pretend." Hear it below. With his self-titled mixtape out now and his Living Legend album on the way, MMG's resident wild child, Gunplay drops a video for his and Peryon J Kee's take on Rae Sremmurd's "No Flex Zone" follow-up.
Everyone knows that Pharrell is as equally rooted in the music world as he is in the fashion one. In the coming days those two worlds will combine in a short feature film directed by Karl Lagerfeld, titled "Reincarnation." Also starring Cara Delevingne (I've never known how to say her last name), the film is to tell the story of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel and the creation of the "Chanel jacket." Pharrell also contributed to the score of the short film, crafting the song “CC The World" for it. "Reincarnation" is set to premiere at the Métiers d’art collection in Salzburg sometime next week, and likely on your computer screens on December 1st.
Gucci Mane remains incarcerated and still manages to throw out new music on the Internets. Check out ATL newcomers Rich The Kid and OG Maco linking up with Guwop on "Lowest." Hear it down below. Taylor Gang's own Chevy Woods takes us "In The Kitchen" for his latest visual. The ID Labs, Jay Card, and Drutang-produced track will appear on his forthcoming Gang Land 3 mixtape.
Boosie's close friend will drop a new mixtape on Thanksgiving (November 27th), Money Good, and with the help of Foxx he crafts this Mustard sound-alike track/ode to butt buddies with benefits. Get More: Kirko Bangz, Got It On Me feat. Migos, Music, More Music Videos The H-Town artist recently linked up with Q-Tip's favorite rappers for his current single off his upcoming Progression 5 mixtape, and now they've released the music video for it. Why MTV still insists on blurring NBA logos in 2014 (while giving no-talent celebrities air to breathe), is beyond me.
Kevin Gates will unveil his latest mixtape, the Gangsta Grillz-sponsored Luca Brasi 2, on December 15th. And with cuts like "Out The Mud" and "Reasonable Suspicion," it should be a good listen. To continue the roll out, the New Orleans native drops off "Perfect Imperfection."
Around this time last year, Bey surprised everybody and sneak-dropped a new album in the midnight hours. Now, after her and JAY Z's beacuoup bucks-making tour, she re-releases her 2013 self-titled LP as a boxed set with six new bonus tracks - such as the club-ready "7/11" and the Nick Minaj-assisted remix for "***Flawless" - as well as a DVD of her solo concert, The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Stream the album portion of the new set - via Spotify, unfortunately - below. After releasing the first single as a signee to RCA Records last month, Dee releases its matching set of visuals. His debut EP with the label will drop on February 17th.
