Rihanna will once again step into the movie world, this time as the voice of Tip in the upcoming Dreamworks animated film Home. That's not all, however, as the chanteuse will "curate" the soundtrack to the film, with the likes of Charli XCX, Jennifer Lopez and Kiesza also making contributions to the compilation as well. Hear the first offering from the soundtrack below.

The new wave of Atlanta stretches beyond the reach of Gucci Mane. The last year has seen the rise of a more alternative and strange sound, led the likes of Awful Records with a guy named ILOVEMAKONNEN at the forefront. His smash single “Club Goin’ Up on a Tuesday” was remixed by Drake after its release last summer, and went on to be nominated for a Grammy. Since, he’s released songs with Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, and more. In episode seven of Noisey Atlanta, Thomas enters MAKONNEN's strange world, which is driven by peace, love, and mushrooms.
I may catch this later, while you all can catch up on the entire series thus far here. Memphis' own Young Dolph is back with the fifth installment of his High Class Street Music mixtape series. Dubbed The Plug Best Friend, the tape comes in at 18 tracks – featuring 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Jeezy, Shy Glizzy, PeeWee Longway; with production from Zaytoven, Cassius Jay, DJ Plugg, TM-88, Drumma Boy and others.
Had enough Sean today? Perhaps you have, what with his new album Dark Sky Paradise out now, or his media/promo runs stopping by The Breakfast Club and The Nightly Show, or his latest string of freestyles, videos, and more freestyles.
Either way, last night the G.O.O.D. Music emcee was the special guest of the latest edition of Hot 97's Listening Lounge, and if you were unable to attend (either because you don't live in NYC or, if you were me, won't get out of bed if it's under 20 degrees outside for less than half a million dollars) you can watch a replay of the festivities below. Enjoy! Jhené Aiko – who will be joining J. Cole and Pusha T on Act 2 of the Forest Hills Drive Tour – is the next guest on Snoop Dogg's Double G News Network for yet another entertaining interview.
First of all... Jhene Aiko don’t need you so don’t get any funny ideas. She stops by the GGN desk to talk about the international success of her laid back, expressive, emotional music. Her and her daughter got Girl Scout Cookies for y’all and a whole lot more on this week’s episode of GGN... u-funkybitch-u!!! 'Ye is currently across the pond taking in the sights and sounds of London's Fashion Week, and it's been confirmed that not only will he perform at the British equivalent of the Grammy Awards but he may actually recite a new song.
Although those same rumors existed before the Grammys, he ended up performing "Only One" and "FourFiveSeconds" instead. Now, while I hope he'll perform the much-hyped "All Day" (he made a brief mention of mastering the song during his time with The Breakfast Club last week), he may end up just doing "Wolves" again. Anyways, tune in to find out. Ferg spent a good amount of time enjoying himself at New York Fashion Week. For his latest video, taken from his Gangsta Grillz mixtape Ferg Forever, and he takes model/socialite Cara Delevingne through a FaceTime trip of his adventures in an effort to prove that his walk is, indeed, meaner than hers.
Inspired by the streets, Rah Digga hijacks DOOM's "Four Thieves Vinegar" instrumental for her latest cut, "Stories From The Ambassador."
A few days ago Comedy Central ran their annual Black History Month Chappelle's Show marathon, and seeing Erykah Badu as a two-time special guest made me realize that she hasn't dropped an album in almost five years. Hopefully that changes in 2015, but until then watching her troll various news reporters will entertain me for the time being. Watch the hijinks when a Dallas news reporter tries to interview her about the airport delays that recently went down at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport above.
Fresh off adding his stylings to Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" earlier this week, Shy Glizzyreturns with a new visual for "Everything Golden" his Law 3: Now Or Never mixtape.
ATL native, Aston Marten Phi, is set to release his official mixtape titled, Aston Martin Music, on 2/15/15 exclusively through Datpiff.

Co-produced by Will-A-Fool and Booby Kritical, the track is yet another reminder of why ATL is currently the go to music scene for fresh new music. Sy Ari's The HeartBreak Kid 3 is out now!
“Hot Nigga” is still getting some burn on the radio, but that’s not stopping Bobby Shmurda from pushing new material as he links up with French Montana and Rowdy Rebel for “Right Now”.
Bobby Shmurda has expressed interest in leaving his deal with EPIC records.Bobby Shmurda has been locked up for the last few months, and it's become clear that his label EPIC Records, will not come rushing to his aid the way many, including the rapper himself, assumed. While EPIC continues to generate revenue from Shmurda's gigantic single, "Hot Nigga", they have yet to provide any support in paying his $2 Million bail. As a result, Bobby is looking to cut ties with the label when he gets the chance.
“I’m going to try my best to go back on the deal,” Bobby told The New York Times of his disappointment with EPIC. “If not, I’ll give them their music and bounce.” Matthew Middleton, Shmurda's lawyer, also commented on what he saw as disloyalty from the label. “These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world. To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least,” he explained, suggesting that EPIC had “made their money back at least two or three times over". Bobby is currently spending his time in Manhattan Detention Complex. He and his alleged accomplices in the GS9 crew are facing a combined 101 counts. The issues over at Cash Money Records remains to be one of the hottest topics of conversation as of late. A lot of people have chimed in on the situation, and now it’s 50 Cent’s turn. Fif takes a different route than most others have, check out what he had to say after the jump.
We all know by now that Wayne has seen better days in terms of his relationship with Birdman/Cash Money, but he’s finally broken his silence on the subject, a little bit at least. In a phone interview with Rolling Stone, Weezy speaks on a few topics regarding the situation. He talks about Tha Carter V, artists releasing surprise albums, The Free Weezy Album being creative (due out in March), and more. Check it all out after the jump.
On not being on speaking terms with Birdman: “I have no words, I’m super-numb to it, to tell you the truth.” On The Free Weezy Album: “I’m working on it every day, man. I guarantee it’s going to be something dope. If you don’t want a musician being creative, don’t get The Free Weezy Album.” On the “I am a prisoner” tweet from December: “I love being a prisoner in some pussy. That’s what I meant. I’m human,” he says. “But it’s nothing that a good blunt can’t cure.” Fresh off the release of Brick Factory 3, Gucci Mane shows no signs of taking it easy as he unleashes a new 8 track EP titled Views From Zone 6, a play on Drake’s upcoming album which is called Views From The 6. This project features Fredo Santana, Young Thug, PeeWee Longway, and more.
Many rappers have claimed to have the ability to go "Beast Mode" (most recently, Future with his Zaytoven-produced mixtape of the same name), but can just anyone animorph on record, or is it simply the best of the best who can claim the title? Jaden Smith is the latest rapper to assume the status, sharing a 3-song suite he recorded with Taku Beats at 15 (which sounds farther back than it is, Smith is 16 now).
The material certainly finds him in a more conventional space, rapping competently on some soul production. What do you think, is Jaden a beast (or future beast) on the mic? Chief Keef decides to borrow Lil Wayne’s mixtape title and switches it up just enough to make it his own, packaging together 18 new tracks to hold the fans over for a little while. Stream and download after the jump.
