The pop sensation is currently prepping her new studio album, dubbed R8, and with new music on the way she aptly covers the music issue of i-D. Rih Rih just dropped off a new record with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, "FourFiveSeconds", which the three will be performing at the Grammys. For now we just have the cover shot, which you can view in the gallery above. Rihanna rocks braids and keeps make-up minimal, with dark lips, and big hoop earrings. Stay tuned for R8, which has rumored collaborations with Mike WiLL Made-It, Ne-Yo, DJ Mustard, Kiesza, Sam Smith and Rae Sremmurd. Check out Master P's new interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.Master P paid a visit to The Breakfast Club while he was in NYC, and discussed his recent and long-awaited collaboration with Lil Wayne, "Power." He says that Mack Maine reached out to him about collabing with Weezy, which had been talked about for a long time but never came to fruition. Moving on from the single, Master P talks about staying out of the headlines and handling his cash, his artists and more.

Check out the full 21-page lawsuit against Cash Money. If you need some not-so-light reading today, you can have a look at the 21-page lawsuit from Lil Wayne, against Cash Money. Tunechi is suing Cash Money for breaching his contract, after they failed to pay up a total of $10 million for his work on Tha Carter V. In addition to wanting out of his CM contract, he would like to be joint copyright owner of all the Young Money recordings. Plus $51 million. The lawsuit indicates all the faults from Cash Money, at length. You can read up on the two sections which specifically reference the $10 milli Wayne is owed, or head here to check out the full PDF. It's essentially Beatking and Danny over a take on Juvenile's never-not-great "Ha." What more can you ask for?
Like Eminem and Three 6 Mafia before them (where they would then go on to win shortly after), both Common and John are now slated to perform their Golden Globe-winning song for the film Selma at the Academy Awards (where it is also up for Best Original Song, while the movie itself is also up for Best Film). This may be one of the few times I sit through the awards show (I doubt it, though).
The Academy Awards air February 22nd, on ABC. Thomas continues his conversation with Coach K about the origin of trap music, beginning with Young Jeezy's 2004 mixtape, Tha Streets Iz Watchin (according to Coach). Both Coach and super producer Zaytoven — who rose to prominence alongside Gucci Mane — explain the explosion of the genre and eventual beef between Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane. We quickly learn that Gucci Mane has not only become one of the most significant rappers in the Atlanta scene, but has so much leverage that his opinion can essentially decide the career trajectory of any new rapper trying to make it. What's perhaps most impressive is that Gucci's influence is still just as prominent as ever — even though he's currently locked up until 2016.

With one side of the rag starring the never-not-aging Jennifer Lopez, Sean graces the other side of the magazine. In his piece he speaks on his rather sobering 2013, his turnaround promising 2014, and the future.
In regards to "IDFWU," Sean finally admits what everyone else has known: that the song, in part, is indeed about his ex. Sean says it happened like this: DJ Mustard was playing a bunch of beats at his studio and they came across the production that became “IDFWU.” As soon as it began to play, the memorable chorus popped into Sean’s head. He laid out a skeleton of the song with mumbles in place of the verses, sent it off to E-40, and played it for Kanye, who added the D.J. Rogers “Say You Love Me, One More Time” sample heard at the beginning and end. The song was nearly complete, but Sean wasn’t satisfied with his verses. Despite stressing that the song was not about his ex, he later admits that he "wrote the last verse and [the line] 'and everyday I wake up celebrating shit, why? ‘Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy bitch,’[Laughs]” about the breakup with Rivera, before reiterating that the song “did not come from a bitter place at all.” Read the rest of the piece here. Meanwhile, you can watch below as Sean takes viewers on a brief tour of Detroit. 1:32 T.O.'s callin' B.S. on T.B.
A small drone was found on the White House grounds overnight, the United States Secret Service confirmed on Monday, but White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the situation “does not pose any sort of ongoing threat.”
Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary issued the following statement Monday morning: "On 1/26/15, at approximately 3:08 a.m., a Secret Service Uniformed Division officer posted on the South Grounds of the White House complex heard and observed a 'quad copter' device, approximately two feet in diameter, flying at a very low altitude and ultimately crashing on the southeast side of the complex. There was an immediate alert and lockdown of the complex until the device was examined and cleared. "An investigation is underway to determine the origin of this commercially available device, motive, and to identify suspects. As additional information becomes available we will update our statement." |
