With her debut album Souled Out due out later this year, Jhené Aiko spoke with Rap-Up on a few topics. During the quick three-minute chat, the bite-sized songstress speaks on the LP, performing on Saturday Night Live and her experience on the 'Would You Like A Tour?.' The most interesting tidbit though, is when Jhené calls Drake her "musical soulmate" and reveals the two have had discussions about a possible collaborative project.
I think that he is probably like my musical soulmate. I just feel like our voices compliment each other, our writing styles, all of that. I would love to do a full project with him. I think that it would be really dope. Live From The Basement: Hit Da Club Vol. 1 | Mixed by @superhighbum Featuring: Yg, Yb'z, Nino Purp, Sess-45, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Future, Justin Beiber, R. Either someone slipped truth serum into Drake’s tea or he is just really feeling himself. A day after Rolling Stone revealed that Drake said Macklemore’s Grammy text to Kendrick was “wack as f*ck”, Drake is back and critiquing Kanye West’s Yeezus.
In the interview, Drake not only says that Kanye West’s lyrical level on Yeezus was inconsistent but said that it was so bad even a certain rapper would not say those lyrics: There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili‘ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some sh*t like that. Drake did go on to say that Kanye is the reason he has a career and that he “loves everything about that guy.” Drake also discussed his relationship with Rihanna, whom he was linked to since 2010. In June of 2010, Drake told The New York Times that he was a “pawn” to Rihanna as she disappeared after they hooked up. A week after, Drake clarified those comments to MTV News by saying it was rare for a woman to “makes me feel nervous or makes me feel small.” In his latest Rolling Stone interview over three and a half years later, Drake is a changed man when it comes to pursuing Rihanna: She’s the ultimate fantasy. I mean, I think about it. Like ‘Man, that would be good’. We have fun together, she’s cool and shit. But we’re just friends, she’s my dog for life. I’m not after p*ssy like I was three years ago, when I was trying to make up for all the years when no girl would talk to me. But I haven’t met somebody that makes everybdy else not matter. UPDATE: Drake has sent a message to his Twitter account to address his comments in the latest interview: I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue. — Drizzy (@Drake) February 13, 2014 I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil. — Drizzy (@Drake) February 13, 2014 De La Soul fans are getting a special gift this Valentine’s Day. The Native Tongues collective members are offering their entire catalog for free download for 25 hours.

This is our way of showing them how much we love them.” The group is also finishing their album You’re Welcome. The set is expected to drop before the summer with another project in the works as well. “We have tons of music, but we’re our own worst critics,” explains Pos on the delay of their next LP. “The album is still called You’re Welcome, but we also have this whole other album that we’re working on that…Wooo, I wish I could talk about it.” Lil Wayne’s career just got an end date. At his performance during the NBA All Star Game Weekend in New Orleans, Drake announced the release date to Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V. Lil Wayne stated in November of 2012 that Tha Carter V would be his final album and at during his performance, Drake let the release date slip: If you want to hear Lil Wayne at his best, if you wanna hear Young Money at they best… Carter V, May 5. Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V will come less than two months after Young Money is scheduled to release Rise of an Empire, which is set for a March 11th release. Rise of an Empire will be the first Young Money compilation since 2009′s We Are Young Money. Check out video of Drake announcing Tha Carter V release date alongside Lil Wayne: |
