Lil Wayne and Cortez Bryant flew two lucky fans called Wisam Kizy and Javin Mesi from Michigan to California last night, so they could watch Wayne‘s show and then listen to his forthcoming Dedication 5 mixtape. After the concert, Weezy, Tez, Wisam and Javin all traveled to a skate park on the tour bus while bumping Dedication 5. Wisam went on Twitter to share his thoughts on the mixtape and mentioned that he thinks D5 is a huge step up from Dedication 4 and more like Dedication 2. Javin also confirmed two more songs that Tune has freestyled over on Dedication 5, which are Kanye West’s “New Slaves” and A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems“. Don’t forget, we already know Wayne has rapped over Jay-Z’s “F*ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” and Rich Homie Quan’s “Type Of Way” too. Cash Money Records' Busta Rhymes recently talked about the motivation behind his star-studded "Thank-You" music video and why he felt a need to kill recent speculation of beefs brewing between his team and G.O.O.D Music. When asked about snagging Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Q-Tipfor the visual, Busta said the decision was a no-brainer. "I was just trying to capitalize on the moment of us all being in the same city, at the same time," Busta told MTV News when he walked the red carpet on Sunday night. "Thank You" features Q-Tip, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, and while the all-star collaboration needs no reasoning, Busta had a very deliberate reason to bring the three MCs together. "We did everything in our power to show the camaraderie, because it's been a lot of talk that over the last year or two about conflict between G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money and Cash Money," the Dungeon Dragon told us. (MTV) Cash Money Records' Busta Rhymes may be looking a lot different in the months to come after hinting at possible plans to once again rock dreads. Over the weekend, Bussa Buss revealed an interest in letting his hair grow back out rather than keeping the weekly shape-ups in place. Back in 2005, Busta Rhymes famously cut off his trademark dreadlocks for spiritual and personal reasons, but after rocking a Caesar haircut for years, the Brooklynite decided to ditch the fade and bring "Sampson back." "That growth signifies that new defining moment in my life," Busta told MTV News on the VMA red carpet Sunday night. "I'm at another turning point. We pressin' the reset button." One of the biggest reset buttons the rapper born Trevor Smith pressed was on his musical resurgence, which began with signing with Cash Money Records. "Everything I've done up to this point was basically like the boot camp training," he added. "Now, motherf--ers is in trouble. And it just feels right karmically, spiritually, physically, mentally, everything that I do is based on a vibe and a energy and if the moment is what's calling for it, we move on it." (RapFix) Taylor Gang leader Wiz Khalifa recently updated fans on his upcoming Blacc Hollywood solo album and revealed how much of an impact his son Sebastian played in its production. According to Wiz, Baby Bash ultimately helped him realize what approach he should take with the LP. "My son really just motivated me because I was kinda confused as to what I needed to do next and what was the best moves for me," he admitted. "When I had him it kinda became all clear. So this album is gonna be really edgy. It's gonna be really fun and going back to my roots, but still progressing and moving forward as well." (MTV)A couple months ago, Wiz broke his silence on the new album's title President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Foxx and many more renowned entertainers and politicians are expected to attend a special 50th anniversary of the March on Washington today (August 28) in the nation's capital. Handfuls of public figures will help commemorate civil rights iconMartin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech today in Washington, DC. Former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter -- as well as celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Jamie Foxx -- will be among a list of speakers who will address a nation that has made great strides in racial equality since King's "dream" remarks helped bring about landmark civil rights legislation. Organizers told The Associated Press that 200,000 people are expected to attend Wednesday's event. Occasional rain showers were forecast to hit Washington throughout the day, but the weather didn't deter crowds: Thousands had already packed the National Mall as of early Wednesday morning. (NBC News) Grand Hustle leader T.I. is the latest hip-hop artist to weigh-in on the "King of New York" debateKendrick Lamar sparked with his "Control" verse and said outside of rap mogul Jay Z, K. Dot may be correct. In Tip's perspective, Lamar's overall approach to "Control" from the name-dropping and the New York proclamation turned into a wake-up call for hip-hop. "I think the climate being as it is, the skill level being as it is, the level of artistry being applied to hit records as it is today, overall, not just for one person, but overall, I think he did what he had to do to get motherf*ckers to wake up and step their sh*t up," Tip said in an interview. "If you ask someone who is highly skilled but less successful, it would not have worked as well. It takes someone who is highly skilled, to be the most successful and to be daring enough to step out. ... Him saying that he was the 'King of New York,' that was courageous. [laughs] To go against a whole coast? That was courageous. That was heroic. ... He said it and he gonna wear it 'cause right now there is no, well, with the exception of Jay, there is no new artist out right now whose as successful or more than Kendrick from New York. There is no new artist whose record plays more than Kendrick's record in New York. So arguably, he's correct." (VIBE) Rap mogul Jay Z reportedly missed out on an opportunity to help enhance Justin Timberlake'sFutureSex/LoveSounds back in 2006 which resulted in Grand Hustle's T.I. cashing-in. According to JT, he wanted to have Young Hov grace his "My Love" track but scheduling conflicts did not work out in their favor. "I wanted to do a record with him on FutureSex/LoveSoundsand he at that time had done ['Deja Vu'] with Beyoncé. He was working on his own record as well so he didn't want to do too many things. But the record was 'My Love.' It ended up being an interesting blessing in disguise 'cause I think Tip's verse was phenomenal." Producer Mouse on the Track is planning the next level of his career, now that he is out of his recording contract Trill Entertainment. While Mouse and Trill Entertainment seem to have parted ways amicably, the producer left the label due to “bad business” practices. “I signed as an in-house producer, but a contract can be perfect and everything can be all good and fair,” Mouse told AllHipHop.com. “What’ll make a contract go bad is when somebody doesn’t abide by it. I’d say I did about 90% of it, pretty much everything that was on the charts and radio was pretty much me but all the money didn’t reflect that.” (AllHipHop News) While the dance now known as “twerking” has been a part of rap music’s vocabulary for years (ie the Ying Yang Twins’ 2000 hit “Whistle While You Twurk,” the ultimate ass shaking anthem Juvenile’s 1999 classic “Back That Thang Up,” and almost every song ever recorded by Luke & 2 Live Crew) it took a former Disney star for twerking to officially go mainstream. Miley Cyrus’ much talked about VMA performance over the weekend and her viral videos that took over the internet earlier this year have made the pop star the face of “twerking” for Middle America and apparently Great Britain as well. The British Oxford Dictionaries Online has added the term to its database after the word has become more visible on major media outlets and social media over the last 12 months. After a preview of the joint appeared on his King Remembered In Time mixtape, K.R.I.T. gives the Future-featured track in its entirety. Look out for K.R.I.T.’s upcoming album coming soon.
