See Kevin Hart Interview Here Diehard fans hoping to see Lil Boosie become a free man once again are going to have to wait a little longer than expected as reports claim he will remain behind bars through mid-2014. Accordng to reports, Boosie Bad Azz should finally depart jail in August. Rumors have been circulating for months that Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie, who has been incarcerated since 2009, would be returning home from prison soon. So far, however, an actual date has just been a matter of speculation. According to New Orleans' NOLA.com, there's now a date people can look forward to: August 18, 2014. That's the date on record with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, the publication reported. Based on a separate conversation with Pam Laborde, the agency's communications director, NOLA.com added that Boosie will be under supervision until June 17, 2018. (Complex)A photo of Boosie letting out a smirk during a Louisiana prison event surfaced back in October. Lil Boosie is trying to keep his spirits up. The Baton Rouge rapper is currently incarcerated on drug charges. However, he was recently granted some time outside the pen. He was spotted at the Angola State Prison Annual Rodeo, where he was smiling as someone taking a picture. Boosie is rumored to be home in a few months, but many sources indicate it will be at the beginning of 2014. (XXL Mag)Recently, LB's attorney claimed new music from the rapper was on deck along with a pending release date. Lil Boosie, the Baton Rogue rapper who is currently incarcerated on drug charges, may be seeing the light of day soon. Journalist Jeff Weiss, who covered Boosie's trial for Rolling Stone, spoke to the rapper's attorneys who shared with him information regarding his release and new music. According to Weiss's tweets, the judge agreed to return Boosie's hard drive containing some unreleased tracks. He also says attorneys believe he could be released in the next few months. "Just got word that judges have agreed to give back Boosie's hard drives and computers. It means a whole lot of new Boosie music coming soon." "No official release date yet for Boosie's return. But his attorneys say no more than four to five months from today." (XXL Mag)In December 2012, Atlanta rapper Trinidad James revealed his interest in working with Boosie once he is released from behind bars. "Ima spend my whole Def Jam check to do a ep with Boosie when he get out of jail. Can't wait.," James tweeted December 26th. (Trinidad James' Twitter) Cash Money Records head Birdman is reportedly looking to expand his business empire by making moves to possibly launch a sports agency. While details are scarce, Baby has taken the steps to make a sports management company a reality. Cash Money Records may be getting into the sports game. The famed record label--home to Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj, to name a few--has filed a legal request to trademark the name Visionaire Sports Group, according to government records obtained by XXL. The trademark request filed October 25 covers the following: "Sports agency services, namely, management, representation and promotion of professional athletes; promoting sports competitions and/or events of others; promoting the goods and services of others by arranging for sponsors to affiliate their goods and services with athletes; talent agencies; arranging personal appearances by persons working in the field of sport ... ." The trademark is listed as owned by Cash Money Records, Inc., under the care of law firm Pryor Cashman LLP. (XXL Mag)Earlier this month, West Coast rapper Lil B dished out his sports agent dream to the masses and invited interested athletes to join the movement. "hey DM me if you PLAY SPORTS D1, or going to LEAUGE AND LOOKING FOR A SPORTS AGENT, DM ME YOUR HIGHLIGHT TAPES AND INFO!! - Lil B," B tweeted December 8."to all the sports players that hit Lil B up!! i will check out your highlight tapes ! stay positive you will make it! love you - Lil B" (Lil B's Twitter)Earlier this fall, Bad Boy Records Diddy reacted to Jay Z launching his Roc Nation Sports and revealed if he would consider a similar move. "No, no, no," Diddy said when asked if Roc Nation Sports makes him want to launch his own athletics management agency. "I love sports but I'm more of an owner type of a guy. So I have aspirations to become [an owner], which it 'will' happen. I will become the first NFL, first African American, majority owner. Not having a small stake but actually owning an NFL team. But then when I see my friend having a sports agency, I support him. When I get the calls like, 'We need to do Bad Boy Sports,' I'm like, 'No. That's not my lane.' I stay in my lane. This is what I want to do. I'm just me. I do my own thing." (Bloomberg TV)Recently, Roc Nation Sports star Skylar Diggins gave props to Jay and his staff for having her back since joining a few months ago. "He's amazing and the whole Roc Nation family is amazing," Diggs responded when asked how Jay has been as a representative. "[They're] just people, everything they touch turns to gold and they just want to move mountains for you and it's great working with people that you actually like. ... [College gift?] I don't know what you're talking about. [laughs] Ha! I'm still trying to figure [the car buttons] out, to be honest. Six months in and [I'm] still trying to figure it out. [Is it outside the studio?] No, it's not. [laughs] It's not." Insomnia Addict Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean both met their future wife and fiance, respectively, through Twitter and now Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland can add her name to the list of Internet Love Connection. During her taped interview on The Queen Latifah Show, Rowland admitted to being engaged to her manager and the unconventional proposal. After Rowland announced that manager Tim Witherspoon “put a ring on it” she explains how a long staring match turned into a shocking proposal: It happened on Skype. It actually happened on Skype. He asked me first on Skype. And I was like, ‘We’re so far away from each other!’ I was in like Bulgaria or somewhere. It was so late. I remember we were both like, just staring at each other. And he asked me. And it was just that simple to say ‘yes.’ I was like, ‘I got my best friend. I have my best friend to ride through life with,’ and… he really is my best friend. The X-Factor judge has been reportedly dating Witherspoon for four years. Check out Kelly Rowland explain her and Witherspoon’s relationship and retell the proposal story on The Queen Latifah Show below: They may not have landed in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame this time around, but N.W.A. just landed a writer for its Ice Cube produced movie, “Straight Outta Compton.” The Hollywood Reporter reports that the planned Universal Pictures movie will be written by Jonathan Herman, who has written several movies for the company as of late. The N.W.A. movie follows the lives of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren and Arabian Prince (who was only a part of the group for a brief time) during their rise to fame in the 1980′s. Veteran video and film-maker F. Gary Gray is still reported to be attached to the project as the film’s Director. The perceived verbal back-and-forth between two of the leading young voices in Hip Hop has been a topic on conversation for the last several months. After Kendrick Lamar mentioned Drake among the emcees on his “Control” verse, many waited to hear what the Young Money rapper would say in response.
While some listeners felt Drake’s “The Language” and a few lines on the “Sh!t (Remix)” were aimed at Kendrick, the “Started From The Bottom” rhymer tells Vibe that he’s not into beefing on wax or responding to “Control” in particular. In the magazine’s cover story, Drake says: I don’t ever want to get into responses. It’s a commitment to go there. “The Language” is just energy. What it was inspired by, I’m sure that, and other things. It’s just me talking my shit. I never once felt the need to respond to that record. The sentiment he was putting forth is what he should have. Of course you wanna be the best. Where it became an issue is that I was rolling out an album while that verse was still bubbling, so my album rollout became about this thing. What am I supposed to say? Nah, we’ll be buddy-buddy? Mind you, I never once said he’s a bad guy [or] I don’t like him. I think he’s a fucking genius in his own right, but I also stood my ground as I should. And with that came another step, which then I have to realize I’m being baited and I’m not gonna fall. Jordan doesn’t have to play pickup to prove that he could play ball, no offense. But I’m not gonna give you the chance to shake me necessarily, ’cause I feel great. There’s no real issue. It’s tough because the people wanna see us tear each other down; I don’t wanna give them that. There’s no point. I have no ill feelings toward that guy. It’s just like, it’s there for me if I wanna fall for it. I’m just too smart for that. Hopefully it’s the last time I gotta talk about this, ’cause every time I open my mouth up about it, they take this piece and take this piece. And he’s hungry, so he’s going to do what he has to do like the BET [cypher]. But again, it’s not enough for me to go. We haven’t seen each other [since the BET cypher,] but I’m sure we’ll see each other and it’ll be cool. And if it’s not, then I guess that’s how our story unfolds. Drake also addresses comparisons made between he and another singing rapper Ja Rule. According to Drizzy, he sees himself as more closely related to 50 Cent than his former rival. I see myself more as 50 than Ja, not from a street perspective, but from a hitmaking perspective. I have the “21 Questions” and “Started From the Bottom.” I’ve tapped into both markets, whereas when Ja would go the street route it would be seen as a reach because 50 kept attacking him. So he’d have to stay in that girl lane. I can really rap, so I would never let that happen. Look who also decided to surprise us with a random-ass project. For the first time in what's felt like forever, we get an actual Lox - Sheek, Jadakiss and Styles P - project, albeit in the form of a four track EP. Maybe they'll finally get to dropping that full-length LP that's over a decade in the making next year. Tracklist and purchase link down bottom.
