Megan Thee Stallion has revealed further details about the night she was shot by Torey Lanez in July of 2020 Megan Pete, the rapper's true name, told Gayle King what happened the night Lanez allegedly shot her in both feet at a party in Los Angeles in her first TV interview, which aired today (April 25) on CBS Mornings. “I was ready to go, and everybody else wasn’t ready to go. But that’s, like, normal friend stuff,” she told King. “So I get out of the car and it’s like everything happens so fast. And all I hear is this man screaming.” Pete continued: “He said, ‘Dance, bitch’ and he started shooting. And I’m just like, ‘Oh, my God.’” She went on to tell King that she was worried that if she took a “wrong step” it could be fatal.
“I don’t know if he’s gonna shoot something that’s, like, super important,” she said. “I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me. I was really scared because I had never been shot at before.” According to medical records obtained by CBS News, Meg still has "tiny bits of retained missile" in her feet that are "too minuscule to try extraction." Kelsey Harris, the other woman in the car with Pete that night, also sent text messages to CBS, asking Pete's bodyguard to "Help" and saying, "Tory shot Meg." After Pete accused Lanez of shooting her, he was charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and driving a vehicle with a loaded, unlicensed firearm. He has pled not guilty to the charges, however, and rejects the allegations. Lanez faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in jail if convicted. He had his bail increased earlier this month after it was determined that he had violated a protection order in the case. Lanez is not allowed to contact Pete or come within 100 yards of her, according to the provisions of the order.
