Rapper PnB Rock, from Philadelphia, was killed on Monday in what the police said they thought to be a robbery that happened after the musician was tagged on social media at a restaurant in South Los Angeles. He was known for his melodic tones, RnB style vibes, and songs like "Everyday We Lit" and "Selfish." Chief Michel Moore of the Los Angeles Police Department said in comments to local reporters on Tuesday that the rapper was "brutally attacked by an individual who apparently, or we believe, came to the location after a social media posting of the artist and the woman accompanying him, posting on Instagram a picture of the meal." According to reports, a scuffle started when the assailant entered Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles in South Los Angeles allegedly, because of the expensive items and valuables he was carrying. PnB Rock was shot and later died that night due to the severe gun wounds endured that day.
Rakim Allen went by the stage name PnB Rock as his record company, Atlantic Records, called his passing a senseless loss. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the incident happened about 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The male suspect, according to the spokeswoman, entered the eatery and made the 30-year-old victim's property the object of his demands. After the incident, the suspect escaped, and the artist was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. In recent years, there have been a number of thefts and robberies involving celebrities, entertainers, and athletes. Early in 2020, Pop Smoke performer Bashar Jackson was slain in a home invasion. Fans pointed out that he had uploaded photographs on Instagram the day before he was shot, displaying a mound of cash and a present bag label bearing his Los Angeles address.
