It seems like ages ago DeJ Loaf's "Try Me" was set on repeat while my friends groaned in the car. Eventually, they stopped groaning and started singing along to the infectious tune. That was just last summer. Now, the Detroit emcee has been on every hook east to west (Kid Ink's "Be Real," Game's "Ryda," Chevy Woods' "All Said & Done") and a debut EP – her first project on Columbia Records – to show for all the hard work.
At five tracks, And See That's The Thing includes the previously-released "Back Up" with Big Sean, the Future-assisted "Hey There" that dropped earlier today, and three solo songs. The original tracklistDeJ shared on Instagram yesterday featured six tracks, but "Butterflies" is seemingly absent from the retail release.
In the hours leading up to the iTunes release, DeJ took to IG to share her thoughts on each track – including the missing joint. Breeze through her words below and head to iTunes to cop. We'll update the post with a stream, but for the time being, those wanting a preview can check into Apple Music.
UPDATE: Spotify delivers a stream; which includes the aforementioned "Butterflies" that is still missing from the iTunes release at the time of this post.
