New Orleans music and culture fans are in for a cinematic and live musical treat. The new film TAKE ME TO THE RIVER NEW ORLEANS will be released in select theaters nationally on April 22nd, and fans of New Orleans music and culture will be in for a truly spectacular musical and cinematic experience. Director/Producer Martin Shore announced today that ALL-STARS LIVE would be performing in select cities across the United States during the month of May. In addition, Petaluma Records will release the Take Me To The River: New Orleans CD on April 29th, which will feature all-new music from the film. DROP ME OFF AT THE RIVER The award-winning TAKE ME TO THE RIVER film franchise continues with NEW ORLEANS. The new film pays homage to New Orleans and Louisiana's rich musical heritage, legacy, and influence. A truly global collaboration and melting pot of influences that merged to make one of the world's most distinctive cultural pearls. Our journey explores the resiliency of surviving devastation to a formidable rebirth, as well as the origins of this unique cultural jewel, which pairs legacy musicians with today's stars. The show features New Orleans artists such The Neville Brothers, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Ledisi, G-Eazy, Snoop Dogg, WIlliam Bell, Galactic, Mannie Fresh, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, George Porter Jr., Christian Scott, Donald Harrison, Big Freeda, Ani DiFranco, PJ Morton of Maroon 5, Rebirth Brass Band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Voice of the Wetlands, The Givers, Dumpstaphunk, Cheeky Blakk, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Big Sam, Terence Higgins, Walter Wolfman Washington, Dee-1, Davell Crawford and many others.
TAKE ME TO THE RIVER ALL-STARS LIVE, featuring musicians from the film like as Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, Jon Cleary, Robert Mercurio, Terence Higgins, and others, will begin touring select cities across the country on May 5th for one-night-only live in-person concerts. New Orleans (5/5 at House of Blues), Chicago (5/10 at City Winery), Philadelphia (5/11 at Ardmore Music Hall), Brooklyn (5/12 at Brooklyn Bowl), St. Louis (5/13 at The Grandel), and Nashville (5/18 at Brooklyn Bowl) are among the cities that will host performances. The film will be released in places including Jackson, Philadelphia, Portland, Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, Boston, D.C., Memphis, and others in the weeks after that.
